   You know how it is
When you have to get up in the morning
   Without a wink of sleep
And to go to school still.

      You know how it is
To try and listen..
   When all you hear are whispers
 and murmurs.

 You know how it is
To try and do homework
 with all of that noise and negativity
   Surrounding you.

 You knew how it was
When you believed you were someone
 -a child-

 You knew how it was
To feel love and be held
  -a teen-

 You remember how it was
Within your own house hold
 -a young adult-

  You remember that moment
When you were vowing to that one person.

 -an adult-

    I sometimes wonder...

 If I pull back the fur of a lion,

              Would I just find a scared kitten?

They all told me to be careful...

    And to watch where in front of me...

 Instead of down to the ground
                and where I tread.

 I never listened (of course)

              and I ended up tripping (a lot)

But one day I was caught

           By warm and gracious hand's.

However... You caught me by accident...

         And now,   you've noticed your mistake

   Now i'm left alone again.

But this time..
